Privacy Policy
HealthPulse ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the HealthPulse iOS app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using HealthPulse, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Our privacy principles
- Your health data stays on your device and in your private iCloud.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers.
- We collect the minimum information needed to operate the app.
- We use Apple HealthKit and Apple's CloudKit, both encrypted by Apple.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Health and fitness data (on-device only)
With your explicit permission, HealthPulse reads from and writes to Apple HealthKit. This includes data such as steps, distance, workouts, sleep stages, heart rate, blood pressure, water intake, body weight, nutrition, medications, and menstrual cycle data. This information is stored on your device and synced only through your private iCloud account. We do not receive, transmit, or have access to your HealthKit data on our servers.
2.2 Account and subscription data
If you purchase HealthPulse Premium, Apple processes the payment. We do not receive your credit card details. We receive a transaction identifier from Apple to verify your subscription status.
2.3 Diagnostic and analytics data
HealthPulse uses Firebase (provided by Google) for crash reporting and aggregated, non-identifying usage analytics. This helps us understand which features are used and identify bugs. Data collected may include device model, iOS version, app version, anonymous installation identifier, and crash logs. This data is not linked to your name, email, or HealthKit data.
2.4 Camera and motion
HealthPulse can use the camera to scan medication labels and blood pressure readings. Images are processed on your device and are not uploaded to our servers. Motion data is used to count your steps in real time and is never transmitted off your device.
2.5 Location
If you start a step session with route tracking, HealthPulse uses your location while in use to draw your walking or running route. Routes are stored on your device and in your private iCloud only.
3. How your data is stored and synced
HealthPulse stores your data locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, your data is synced through Apple's CloudKit to your other devices signed in with the same Apple ID. CloudKit is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. We do not host or have access to this data.
4. Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these limited cases:
- Apple: for HealthKit, iCloud sync, and in-app purchases.
- Firebase (Google): for crash and aggregate analytics.
- Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
5. Your choices and rights
- You can revoke HealthKit, camera, motion, location, and notification permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
- You can disable iCloud sync from inside HealthPulse Settings.
- You can delete the app to remove all on-device data. iCloud data can be removed from iCloud Settings on your Apple device.
- You can request deletion of any analytics data tied to your installation by contacting us.
6. Children's privacy
HealthPulse is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
7. Data retention
Your health data remains on your device and in your iCloud for as long as you keep the app installed and iCloud sync enabled. Aggregated analytics data is retained for up to 24 months.
8. International users
If you use HealthPulse outside the country of our operations, your analytics data may be processed by Firebase servers located in other countries. By using HealthPulse you consent to this processing.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of HealthPulse after changes means you accept the updated policy.
